Alright everyone, we have had a few savory recipes posted, time for something sweet! I will say that my absolute favorite cookie of all time is, the chocolate chip cookie. That is saying quite a bit since I have made, or had so many different cookies. For most of my baking needs, anything that requires vanilla extract, I used white Mexican vanilla. Everyone has their preference of different vanilla extracts and vanilla beans, but this one almost has a nutty flavor to it. I highly recommend switching or at least trying it. I also use salted butter, not margarine. Believe me it DOES make a difference!
You will need:
2 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
1 Cup (2 sticks) Butter, softened
3/4 Cup packed Dark Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp Salt
3/4 Cup White Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla Extract (I use white vanilla)
2 Cups Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Let’s get started!
Heat the oven to 375 F. While preheating, cream the butter and sugars. Add the additional wet ingredients. Once mixed well, add the dry ingredients. Making sure there are no clumps in the mixture, fold in the chocolate chips.
Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet, or in my case, a heated stone from Pampered Chef. I would suggest purchasing a baking stone if you have the funds. It cooks the cookie thoroughly and browns the bottom nicely.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned on top. Cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack for complete cooling. Will make 3-5 dozen cookies (Yes, really that many!)
