Meat Loaf

Good Evening!

Tonight we have a recipe straight from my family tree (Grandma Williams Cook Book), Meat Loaf. Every family has their own and their own way of making it. Do you use bread crumbs, crackers or actual stale bread? Some people like to top it with ketchup, or leave it bare on top. So many different variations and every person has their own way of tweaking it to their family’s liking. Personally, I prefer crackers and the no ketchup kind of meat loaf.

You will need:

1 1/2 Lbs Ground Beef

2 Eggs

1 Onion, diced

1/2 Cup Celery, diced

4 Saltine Crackers, broken up

1/2 Cup Milk

Salt and Pepper to taste

Let’s get started!

Mix all ingredients well. Make sure all the pieces and liquid are incorporated thoroughly and evenly.

Place in bread loaf pan and bake at 350 F for 45 mins to 1 hour. My loaf took 1 hour at minimum. I sliced the loaf to make sure it was no longer pink inside.

Pour off any excess grease. Serve hot or cold, sliced. Enjoy!
